Everglades Field Trip to Pine Jog
                                      by Carey Britton

We had a good turnout for the STA-1, Pine Jog trip into the wetlands near Wellington, FL on February 16, 2008. Pine Jog is a part of the Florida Water Management System, where they have set aside a large number of acres to be preserved. With Florida's increased water demands, these areas are critical in our future water management. These pressures are also felt on the animal populations who have claimed these areas as their home. Pine Jog is home to numerous avian and reptile populations.
