New Everglades Chapter Members Exhibit We are excited to be planning two exhibits showcasing the work of Everglades Chapter members. Each exhibit will be for a three-month period beginning in January 2010. We are, however, limited in the number of images we may display at each venue. The first venue will be a "Headquarters-Chapter Display" page on the PSA website. It is rotated every three months from chapter to chapter. For this exhibit we will be allotted about 14 images. The subject matter of the images may be whatever you would choose (for instance, what you enter into international exhibitions or even enter into your local camera clubs for competition). Please submit up to four digital files (measuring a maximum of 1024 pixels on the horizontal OR 768 pixels on the vertical) with a resolution of about 72 ppi, sRGB color space to Michael Rosenbaum (polyandy@comcast.net). Please title your images with your last name and first initial + image title (for instance, RosenbaumM-Egret Rising). Your submitted digital files will be juried to select images to be included in the two exhibitions, (1)"Headquarters Display"-digital on PSA website and (2) print display at Daggerwing Nature Center, final framed size, 11x14. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michael Rosenbaum or Candy Childrey (childrey_ohern@bellsouth.net). Deadline for submission for image selection (to be done by judges from outside the chapter) is October 31, 2009. Thanks in advance for your interest! (Be aware that exhibiting in these venues January-March 2010 is only open to PSA members who belong to the Everglades Chapter.) Looking forward to receiving your entries, Michael Rosenbaum, Chairman and Candy Childrey, Exhibit Coordinator |

Sunday, January 31, marked the first field trip of the year for the Everglades Chapter. We met up at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach. It was an overcast day but pleasant enough otherwise. After some shooting in the overcast condition, we thought it would be wisest to photograph egrets as they require less light. We photographed for about 90 minutes and then went to Poppy's restaurant for a terrific breakfast. Our next Field Trip is to Blue Cypress Lake on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Come out and join us. |
