Tom Icklan, APSA,

"High Dynamic Range Photography"

"Invitation to Charleston"

Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. and the program will start promptly at 9:45 am. There will also be our usual print exhibition of attendees' work.  This will be coordinated by Candy Childrey, who will assist you in placing your prints on the tables at the perimeter of the presentation room.  Guests are also welcome to bring some of their work to display.  You may submit up to four prints (8x10s, 8x12s, or 11x14s), matted or unmatted.  We look forward to seeing your images!

The programs and lunch will be held at our usual location: Verti's Italian Restaurant, located at 5521 W Oakland Park Blvd, Lauderhill, FL  (954) 731-3060.  From I-95, take Oakland Park Road exit and go west 3.8 miles to Verdi's.

Saturday, March 13, 2010  Blue Cypress Lake

We are planing a trip to Blue Cypress Lake (Middleton's Fishing Camp) which is located between Yehaw junction and Vero Beach.  The trip is to be scheduled the 2nd weekend (Saturday) in March (13th). This area is really good for sighting Osprey.  There are over 100 nests yearly on this lake, where we can rent pontoon boats and access the lake.  This will provide very good access to the Osprey nests and at this time of year we expect hatchlings, and Osprey- parents transporting fish back to the nest.  View Details Here  You can reach Carey at (954) 821-7322

The Everglades Chapter of the Photographic Society of America is proud to present Tom Icklan, APSA, at our March 20, 2010 meeting.   He will not only demonstrate HDR techniques with the ever popular Photomatix program, but will also include single image methods that yield results that approach the real thing in appearance.   Since many people think their work is finished with the output from a program such as Photomatix, follow up Photoshop, Nik Software and Topaz Labs adjustments will prove useful for those who wish to present their images in the very best way. Finally, time permitting a short slide program will highlight the topics from Tom's talk.

Our afternoon program will conclude with "An Invitation to Charleston," which was presented at the Yellowstone 2009 PSA conference.  This digital slideshow was composed to familiarize people with some aspects of the locale of our 2010 PSA conference (10/3-9/2010).

Also, for chapter members AND guests, please be aware that you are invited to bring up to four prints to display on the perimeter of the presentation room.  The prints can be matted or unmatted.  This is a nice way to share your recent work with other attendees.
